Living Green Homes Vice President/COO Jason Scheurer is proud to announce the company’s first green single-family residential development. For this project, Living Green Homes is pursuing a Build It Green, GreenPoint Rated designation. Upon completion in fall 2009, it will be one of the first of its kind in Orange County and Huntington Beach, California.

Located just 3-blocks from the ocean at 319 21^st St., Huntington Beach, the 3-story home will total 3,213 square feet with three bedrooms, three full bathrooms and two half bathrooms. This energy efficient and ecologically built residence will demonstrate how homeowners can conserve energy and dollars by adopting and utilizing green building products and services.

Living Green Homes’ prototype will feature an unparalleled display of energy-saving systems and environmentally friendly materials in a fully operational residence.

The finished product will deliver a reduction of electrical consumption up to 65% - 30% less greenhouse gas emissions and 40% less water consumption. When combined, the total monthly savings to the consumer will be up to $700.00.

Upon completion, a Grand Opening event will occur at the home. Following this event, the home will be open for green showcase tours for up to 90 days to the general public and trade.

Tours will offer curious visitors, both consumers and those in the trade, are in for one incredible educational experience in green building and green products. Attendees will learn about the latest in environmental friendly building products including: energy efficient appliances, indoor air quality systems, and water conservation offerings, among other categories. Sponsors will offer product information, samples of products, and demonstrations. There will also be information on the Build It Green certification process.
